Another local Grammy hopeful

BERNARDSTON — When the annual Grammy music awards are televised Sunday, a third man with local ties will be in the audience, with or without his own musical recognition already secured.
Mathieu Lejeune, credited as Mat, was nominated with four others for the prestigious music award in the category “best engineered album, classical category.”
Lejeune joins Cary Clark, who grew up in Greenfield, and Shelburne Falls singer and pianist Seth Glier in the queue of 2012 Grammy nominees who have at one time called Franklin County home.
All, interestingly, are nominated for technical work, but none are in direct competition.
Lejeune was born in Chicago but moved to Franklin County with his parents when he was 13, graduating from Northfield Mount Hermon School and later Greenfield Community College before moving on to Ithaca College in New York and from there back to Chicago in 1998.
