ORANGE — Adam Whitten has been elected president of the Orange Community Band, replacing Dana Tandy, who resigned at the end of the summer season.

The band held a pizza party, general band meeting and election this week.

For years, Tandy ran the band’s fundraising concession stand and no one has stepped forward to replace her in that capacity. The band will have to consider hiring an outside organization — possibly one or more food trucks — to provide refreshments if no one volunteers to handle the organizing of soda, coffee, popcorn and hot dog sales. Any local organizations interested in taking over can contact Whitten at Whitten Enterprises, 978-544-6265.

Other officers returned to their seats include Elaine Guertin, vice president for personnel; Susan Tandy-Songer, treasurer; Maureen Riendeau, secretary; and Dick Tandy and Terry Parker, managers.

The band is rehearsing the first Wednesday evening of each month in the Orange Armory at 7 p.m., and will begin regular weekly Wednesday rehearsals for the Pops concert beginning March 7. The Pops concert will be held at 4 p.m. on April 28.
