Buckland town clerk’s hours

BUCKLAND — The town clerk’s office will be closing at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday and will remain closed through Wednesday.

On Thursday, the office will be open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Town Hall closes daily from 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m. for lunch.

Nomination papers ready in Shelburne

SHELBURNE — Nomination papers for the annual town election will be available from Town Clerk Joseph Judd’s office on Tuesday.

The following terms will be up for election or re-election: One-year terms for town clerk, town moderator and tree warden; three-year terms for assessor, selectman and two trustees for the Shelburne Free Public Library; and five-year terms for the Housing Authority, Planning Board and Recreation Committee.

To be on the ballot, nomination papers must be returned to the town clerk by 5 p.m. on March 26. The clerk’s office is located in Memorial Hall, 51 Bridge St.

Film workshop in Ashfield

ASHFIELD — Resident filmmaker Ben Murray will discuss “making the impossible possible” in a “Filming Your Story” workshop on Saturday, March 3, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Elmer’s.

Murray will show participants how using simple techniques can produce great movies. Those attending will also learn the basics of editing and storyboarding. No experience necessary. Information on getting free access to cameras, editing equipment and help will also be provided.

The workshop is free through the Ashfield FilmFest; however, donations would be appreciated to help purchase a projector. Those who want to attend should email Tamara Sloan at: tamara.sloan1@gmail.com.

Mohawk ice cream social planned

BUCKLAND — The Mohawk Trail Regional School will host a seventh-grade information night and ice cream social for families on Thursday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. This event is for the families of fourth- through sixth-graders. Mohawk’s team of seventh-grade teachers will talk about “a day in the life” of a seventh-grader.
