Mosaic workshop in Charlemont

CHARLEMONT — Buckland artist Cynthia Fisher will hold a mosaics workshop at the Tyler Memorial Library on Sunday, Jan. 14, from 2 to 4 p.m.

Fisher has been creating mosaics since 2000. At Big Bang Mosaics, her business, she creates installations for public, residential and corporate settings nationwide. Fisher will be teaching basic mosaic techniques as workshop attendees work on a small project. Beginners are welcome. Materials are provided.

The library is in the Town Hall at 157 Main St.

Summit in Dalton Thursday

CHARLEMONT — The next Small Town Summit, presented by Rural Commonwealth, will be held Thursday, Jan 11, at 7 p.m. in the Dalton Town Hall, at 462 Main St.

The Small Town Summit program was started by Charlemont Selectboard members, then taken over by Rural Commonwealth, to address common problems faced by rural communities throughout Massachusetts. This year, Rural Commonwealth leaders are hoping to widen participation by meeting in more rural communities throughout Massachusetts.

In case of a snow storm, the alternate date will be Jan. 18.
