Childcare Openings: The Y has a few openings in its before school and after school childcare programs. The programs serve children in Kindergarten to 6th grade from Greenfield, Turners Falls and Gill schools. Before school care is offered from 6 to 8:30 a.m., and after school care from school dismissal until 6 or 7 p.m. The programs are open during school closings (half days, full days, snow days and vacation weeks). See page 7 of the brochure at: ymcaingreenfield.org for more information or call Kara at 773-3646, ext. 452, to register.

During each class, participants use the barre and exercise equipment to sculpt, slim and stretch their bodies. Class is free for Y members and $10 per class for all others.

Free Nutrition Talk: Today, from noon to 1 p.m., the Y will be holding a community potluck luncheon. Physician Assistant Aaron Greenstein from Valley Medical Group will be speaking about the science of nutrition and how it can improve overall health. Bring a favorite dish (no desserts) and the Y will provide turkey and beverages. Call 773-3646, ext. 0, to reserve a spot.

Camp Apex, the Y’s outdoor camp, has nine weeks to choose from, each with a theme. Apex also has seven specialty camps for children ages 8 to 14. There is also early and late care available. The Y provides $70,000 in financial aid thanks to donations from the Annual Sustaining Campaign, Y Kids to Camp Golf Tournament and the United Way of Franklin County. See the brochure at: ymcaingreenfield.org or stop by the Y for more information.

Full-day Preschool Openings: The Y has a few mid-year openings for its full-day preschool. There are two classrooms, one for 3 to 4 year olds and another for 4 to 5 year olds.
