Youth Basketball Program: Registration has begun for Montague residents. The program includes Start Smart Instructional Basketball for children in grades K to 2. Held Wednesday evenings starting Jan. 3, 2018, through late February/early March, 2018. Montague residents, $30. Boys and girls junior travel teams begin the week of Nov. 27 through late February, 2018. Montague residents, $70; non-residents, $75. Boys and girls senior travel teams begin week of Nov. 27 through late February. Montague residents, $70; non-residents, $75. Practice days and times to be determined for all teams, except Start Smart. For more information or to register, call 863-3216 or visit: www.montague.net. Nonresidents may register starting Nov. 6.

Youth Basketball Clinics: For girls and boys in grades 3 to 6. Girls clinic will be on Tuesday, Nov. 14; boys clinic on Thursday, Nov. 16. Clinics will be held at Sheffield Elementary School Gym. Montague residents, $20 per player; non-residents, $25 per player. 15 player limit with a 10 player minimum for each clinic. Non-residents will be automatically placed on a waiting list until Nov. 9 and will be placed on the main roster if a vacancy exists. These clinics are not try-outs for the youth basketball program, nor do they guarantee placement on those teams. Registration in the youth basketball program is separate and first come/first serve.

Sawmill River 10k Run Registration: Online registration for the annual New Year’s Day race begins on Wednesday, Nov. 1, at: http://bit.ly/2xl8x6l.

Bluefish Swim Team: Names are being taken for the waiting list for the recreational/competitive swim team. The team consists of groups according to ability — novice through advanced. The Bluefish are members of the Pioneer Valley Swim League. Meets take place Saturdays. Open to all area youth able to successfully complete an in-pool swim test. Program runs from mid-October through the beginning of March. Practices are Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings. Fees vary per swimmer level and residency. Multiple family member discount available.
