GREENFIELD — If you would like to support more greenery in the city and also like free games and soup, then the Hope and Olive Restaurant could be the place for you on Monday.

The Greenfield Tree Committee is holding a Soup and Game night fundraiser at Hope and Olive Restaurant Monday from 5 to 7:30 p.m.. The money raised will go to help tree plantings occurring in the city, including efforts this year in the Spring Terrace neighborhood.

“It’s a way to supplement what the DPW is doing and a way to support our town and just provide a great service,” said Mary Chicoine, Tree Committee member and Franklin Regional Council of Governments senior land use and natural resources planner.

The fundraiser will include a raffle, which will feature tree art, hand-crafted birdhouses, books, games and more items. In addition, free games and soup will be available from Hope and Olive, as well as a cash bar.

The event is part of Hope and Olive’s monthly Soup and Game Night, which gives proceeds to the event to a chosen charity each month, according to the restaurant’s website.

According to Chicoine, the Greenfield Tree Committee looks to plant additional trees in the city, which she said can benefit both residential and business areas.

The trees that they plant, according to Chicoine, are part of the approved tree list in Greenfield’s tree ordinance, with a focus on trees that can provide shade.
