SHELBURNE — Shelburne turns 250 years old on June 21, 2018, and it is looking for artists, residents and civic groups that want to help celebrate this birthday.

According to Town Clerk Joseph Judd, a very preliminary planning committee is looking for events and activities to make this anniversary year something to remember.

Soon, the organizers will start a “logo contest” for a Shelburne graphic that could be used on commemorative objects and T-shirts throughout next year. The contest hasn’t yet started, but entry forms will soon be available.

The committee would like to hold a celebration on the weekend closest to the anniversary date. Also, they would like the town’s 250th to be represented in next summer’s Fourth of July parade.

Groups that want to participate should start thinking of what they want to do should contact Judd during office hours at the Town Clerk’s Office, Memorial Hall, at 625-0300, ext. 3.
