Rowe town election Saturday

ROWE — Several town officials are seeking re-election on Saturday, and the annual town election ballot has several vacancies that could be filled by write-in candidates.

The polls at Town Hall will be open Saturday, May 19, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Selectman Chuck Sokol, who has served an eight-month unexpired term, is running for election to his first three-year term. Assessor Ellen Miller is seeking re-election to the Board of Assessors, and incumbent Loretta Dionne is seeking re-election to a two-year seat on the Finance Committee.

New candidates are running unopposed on the ballot for the following positions: Matthew Crowningshield, a three-year seat on the School Committee; Susan Williams, a three-year seat on the Parks Commission; and Jay Williams for a three-year seat on the Cemetery Commission.

Vacant seats with no takers on the ballot include: a one-year seat on the Board of Assessors; a Board of Health three-year term; two three-year seats on the Finance Committee; a five-year Planning Board seat; and a three-year term as Library Trustee.
