Recorder treasure worth $1,000 – if you can solve the riddles

Sunday, March 19, 2017

How well do you know Franklin County?

If you’re savvy enough, quick and good with riddles, you could win $1,000 in The Recorder’s Treasure Hunt contest through April 1.

The Recorder has hidden a medallion worth $1,000 in a public place in our home delivery area.  We will publish a clue in the paper each day through April 1 – unless the medallion is uncovered before then. The deeper your knowledge of the area, and the better you are with riddles, the better your chances of winning. Each day the clues accumulate, and the chances of winning grow.

The $1,000 prize goes to the first person who finds the medallion and calls the number on it and gives the prize code included on the medallion.

The contest is meant to be fun, and we hope the readers will enjoy trying to solve the puzzle. The $1,000 prize is sponsored by Dillon Chevrolet.

Copies of the official contest rules are available at The Recorder offices and are listed below.

So, how well do you know Franklin County?

Recorder Treasure Hunt Contest Rules

To win, contest participants will have to use the clues to find the hidden medallion.

One $1,000 prize will be awarded to the first person who calls the phone number on the back of the medalian and gives the prize code.

Beginning March 20, one clue will be printed each day in the print and e-edition versions of The Recorder. The clues will lead to the area where the prize medallion is hidden in public somewhere in Franklin County.

The treasure hunt will end after the prize medallion is found or at 5 p.m. on April 1.

Following the clues published in The Recorder, find the medallion hidden on public property in Franklin County. The medallion is not buried (although it could be covered by snow) and no structure needs to be disturbed or climbed on to find it. Treasure hunting should only be done in daylight hours.

There will be one winner. The prize is $1,000. The prize is sponsored by Dillon Chevrolet.

All federal, state and/or local income and other taxes, if any, are the winner’s sole responsibility.
