Greenfield, March 20

5:20 p.m. — Report of gunshots on Colrain Road near the Days Inn. Turned out to be the sound of a BB gun. 

6 p.m. — A large fight reportedly broke out in the dining room of the detox at the Franklin Recovery Center on Federal Street. Massachusetts State Police was contacted to come. By the time Greenfield Police arrived, the scene was quiet. Several people were reported to be kicked out of the detox program. 

9 p.m. — Thomas M. Patnode, 18, of Wells Street was arrested on a warrant at the Miles Street Apartments.  

Greenfield, March 21

2:46 a.m. — A male reportedly pushed a doctor into a wall at Baystate Franklin Medical Center. Individual was brought to the detox at the Franklin Recovery Center.

10:04 a.m. — A Chapman Street caller said his mother’s Honda CRV was broken into, breaking the window. The vehicle had been parked there for several weeks. 

Greenfield, March 22

11:03 a.m. — A male was hit by a vehicle while crossing Federal Street, as the vehicle was turning off of Church Street. Police were unable to locate the vehicle. MedCare responded to the male. 

4:38 p.m. — Three Heather Court residents, living at the same address, were arrested following a report of assault and battery. Katrina C. Bauer, 35, was arrested and charged with two counts of assault and battery and resist to arrest. Aldo C. Tatro, 50, was arrested and charged with intimidation of a witness. April A. Tatro, 44, was arrested on a warrant.

Greenfield, March 23

11:04 a.m. — An officer observed a person throw a canned beverage into a post office box. The can was seized as evidence.

2:51 p.m.— Report made that three high school-age teens had allegedly stolen soda and other possible items. The teenagers were located and the items were returned. Charges are being pursued.

7:40 p.m. — A man reported he was attacked by four men while riding his bike on Forest Avenue, and that his wallet, phone and pocket knife were taken. The assailants were described as white males, two of them tall and maybe with beards, and that one looked to be in his 50s while the others were in their teens or 20s. He declined medical treatment. 

Greenfield, March 24

2:02 a.m. — A man reported he was attacked on Pierce Street. He had abrasions on his face and left-hand knuckles. Around 3:45 a.m., the man went to the police station after being discharged from Baystate Franklin Medical Center with a mild concussion, and told police he wished to press charges against his attacker, whom he identified.

9:28 p.m. — Carson Chastain, 30, of Earl Avenue was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of liquor with a blood alcohol content 0.08 or greater, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle. Chastain was stopped on Montague City Road after being spotted driving erratically. 

Montague, March 24

2:13 p.m. — A person had their laptop reportedly stolen while they were doing laundry at Suzee’s on Third Street. 

Greenfield, March 25

10:01 a.m. — A report of a breaking and entering at an apartment on Briar Way. The apartment has reportedly been vacant for some time. Found in the apartment were drug paraphernalia, food wrappers and trash. The back door was reportedly left unlocked. 

Montague, March 25

7:41 p.m. — A Green Pond Road resident reported someone broke into his home and took a few items while he was away for a few days. 

Greenfield, March 26

12:06 p.m. — Adam & Eve on Main Street reported an item was stolen the day before. Police checked the last known address for the suspect but the person doesn’t live there anymore so a warrant will be requested. 

3:21 p.m. — Bootleggers at Big Y Plaza reported a female who shoplifted at the store. The woman was identified and charges will be filed. 

Greenfield, March 27

3:13 a.m. — A structure fire broke out at a home on Bouker Street, requiring the assistance of the Greenfield and Turners Falls fire departments. When Greenfield arrived the west side of the building was actively burning and exterior propane tanks were fully engulfed. One firefighter was brought to the hospital with minor injuries. State fire marshal arrived around 4:49 a.m. and the scene was completely cleared by 6:09. 

12:25 p.m. — A report of a 4-year-old walking alone on Bernardston Road. Her father was reportedly picking her up when his daughter wandered toward Stoneleigh Burnham to see horses.
