Police Logs: July 28 to July 31, 2017

Greenfield, July 28

3:07 p.m. — A caller from Leon L. Sirum & Company on Deerfield St., reported a silver 2005 Ford Focus as stolen, as the rental vehicle was not returned.

9:23 p.m. — An accident without injuries occurred near 159 Chapman St. involving a white 2012 Toyota Camry. The driver backed the car into a utility pole and the bumper got stuck.

11:08 p.m. — An accident occurred at the base of the hill near the bridge on Turners Falls Road involving a blue 2008 Subaru Outback. The caller reported the car was on its side and blocking the road, though the female driver was uninjured. Montague police also responded and reported there was no smoke, fire or fluids coming from the car. The road was blocked off at the intersection of Loomis Road and the French King Highway until the car could be towed.

Montague, July 28

6:11 p.m. — Police arrested Erin G. Schacht, 36, homeless on a straight warrant. Police found Schacht at Unity Park. 

Greenfield, July 29

9:25 a.m. — A caller on High Street reported having one license plate stolen off a black 2012 Chevrolet Malibu sometime overnight.

10:03 a.m. — An accident without injuries occurred on Elm Street between a white 2004 Toyota Matrix and a gray 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The driver of one vehicle backed into the other vehicle while it was parked, with the other driver visiting a nearby tag sale.

Greenfield, July 30

3:44 a.m. — A traffic stop near Poet’s Seat Health Care Center on High Street involving a green 1999 Chrysler Concorde resulted in the arrest of Eric R. Bastarache, 25, N Street in Turners Falls. Bastarache was arrested on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.08 or greater, possessing an open container of alcohol in the car, negligent operation and a marked lanes violation.

2:02 p.m. —  A caller at Green River Park on Petty Plain Road, reported the driver of a gray 2012 Honda Accord backed into his red 2004 Honda FSC6004 motorcycle when stopped at a red light on Federal Street. The motorcycle sustained minor damage to its front fender. The caller said he spoke with the registered owner of the car and exchanged information.

2:16 p.m. — An accident without injuries occurred at the intersection of Nash’s Mill Road and Colrain Road between a blue 2006 Hyundai Elantra and a black 2011 Cadillac CTS.

Greenfield, July 31

8:58 a.m. — Police arrested Michael J. Tondryk, 28, of Bernardo Drive in Montague on a warrant arrest following a call stating two males were fighting on Prospect Street, with one reportedly pulling a black handgun.

4:47 p.m. — A report of a 12-inch pothole on the General Pierce Bridge, with the rebar visible through the bridge. State Department of Transportation was called in regard to the bridge and a foreman will come check it out.

7:29 p.m. — Police arrested Brandan L. Tinsley, 28, of Pray Drive in Greenfield on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. Police stopped Tinsley at Pray Drive.
