Police logs, Sept. 12 to 14, 2017

Greenfield, Sept. 12

12:30 p.m. — An elderly woman was temporarily relocated to the senior center after many mud wasps came in from a nest under the window to her home. The building owner was notified and the Greenfield Board of Health came to the home on Conway Street.

6:55 p.m. — A male was taken by police to the detox center at the Franklin Recovery Center on Federal Street after a caller said they were concerned he was taking large amount of heroin and noted he had stolen over $2,500 from his family in the last month. Police found the male with his mother on Hope Street. The male said he would speak with his bank and would come to the police station the next day.

Greenfield, Sept. 13

8:22 a.m. — A cedar chest was reported to be stolen from a Conway Street residence. The caller said she believes sometime between 9:50 and 10 a.m. on Monday someone broke into her mother’s home and stole the cedar chest. She also believes the same person is breaking into her home.

10:03 a.m. — Medication found on Federal Street.

10:56 a.m. — Report of malicious destruction to vehicle on Conway Street; dents in passenger-side door and hood.

12:02 p.m. — Man seen trespassing on railroad property, warned it was an arrestable offense.

12:18 p.m. — Two people smoking on Veterans Mall received written warnings for violating city ordinance.

12:59 p.m. —Man walking on railroad tracks went down path toward Mill Street billboard, where four people were drinking in public. Anthony J. Allen of Greenfield arrested on a charge of trespassing on railroad property. Cynthia D. McHaley of Miles Street was arrested on a warrant.

4:20 p.m. — Lost property reported at Stop & Shop: a tan Co-op shopping bag containing a folder and a cell phone.

7:23 p.m. — Caller reports the mother of his 10-year-old son is parked out front, refusing to allow the child to visit his father, per a custody agreement in court. Child wants to go home with mom. Police mediated, and boy is staying with his dad.

8:14 p.m. — Boulder falls onto roadway in front of red Saab, which hits it and is damaged; driver stranded on Turners Falls Road. Police provide courtesy transportation and driver reports car damage.

10:09 p.m. — Accident on Riverside Drive. White truck struck an object that hit an apartment building, cracked a wall in one apartment. Police arrested Samantha M. Boutell, 20, of Turners Falls on charges of driving under the influence of liquor, driving without a license and negligent driving.

Montague, Sept. 13

9:03 a.m. — Walk-in caller reports he was attacked by a dog on Mount Toby, Reservation Road.

12:45 — Caller says a light gray Saab hit his car and sped off. Report taken.

1:49 p.m. — Woman reports that a man she is no longer involved with is using her address as his own.

3:53 p.m. — Report of a dog in vehicle with windows rolled up, in Food City parking lot, showing signs of distress. Gone on arrival.

Greenfield, Sept. 14

1:06 a.m. — Unoccupied parked car stolen from Bismark, N.D., recovered in parking lot of Registry of Motor Vehicles on Miner Street. Bismark police confirmed the 1998 black Chevy was stolen out of a storage yard. It was towed by Sirum’s.

Montague, Sept. 14

10:01 a.m. — Police arrested Kienan Scanlon, 20, a homeless resident of Turners Falls on a default warrant, finding him on K Street.
