Police Logs, Jan. 10 to 22, 2018

Greenfield, Jan. 10

10:22 a.m. — Report of shoplifting at Big Y market. Suspect found with more than $40 worth of makeup stuffed into purse. Store manager issued a trespass notice, because of alleged repeat shoplifting incidents.

3:02 p.m. — Report of erratic operation of vehicle, Route 2/Factory Hollow section of Gill. Silver Mercedes headed west at speeds exceeding 90 mph, marked lanes violation.

8:39 p.m. — Accident with injuries, near Exit 27 South on Interstate 91. Car rollover reported. Driver sustained minor injuries; courtesy transport provided to operator.

Greenfield, Jan. 11

9:19 a.m. — Luis F. Carromero, 48, of Springfield was arrested on charges of driving after license was revoked.

10:56 a.m. — Vehicle broken into on Adams Road, report of cash and plumbing supplies taken.

11:39 a.m. — Todd R. Matthews, 57, of Springfield arrested on a warrant.

Greenfield, Jan. 13

6:47 a.m. — A caller near the intersection of Green River Road and Eunice Williams Drive reported a tree down across the road. Though wires were stretched, they did not appear to be down. The road was temporarily closed and Eversource responded.

12:15 p.m. — A large pothole was reported in the road near 100 Conway St. The Department of Public Works responded to patch the hole if needed.

6:22 p.m. — A caller stated a woman climbed out a window at an apartment on Leonard Street. Officers discovered the woman, a tenant of the apartment, was using the window to avoid another tenant who often hangs out in the hallway.

Greenfield, Jan. 14

4:50 p.m. — Robert E. Hogan, 46, of Wells Street was arrested on a warrant, after police found him at or near his apartment. 

5:31 p.m. — A report was called into police of suspicious activity near Federal and Pierce streets, which turned out to be a drone flying in the area. 

10:21 p.m. — Aaron Webber, 18, of Conway Street was arrested on a warrant, following a report of Webber punching staff at the Victory House, where he was living. 

Greenfield, Jan. 15

6:39 p.m. — After driving down Conway Street, reportedly swerving and nearly hitting other vehicles head on, two Greenfield men were arrested. Stephen W. Maynard Jr., 34, of Phillips Street was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of liquor with a Blood Alcohol Content of 0.08 or greater. Jason Maynard, 31, of Phillips Street was arrested and charged with assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. Jason Maynard reportedly tried to block the vehicle as it was being towed. Maynard and an officer then got into a “scuffle,” according to the police log, leading to the officer pinning him to the ground until other officers arrived. 

10 p.m. — A vehicle rolled over from a car accident near the Mill House Apartments on Wells Street. The two parties involved then got into an apparent assault and were advised by police of their options in pressing charges. 

11:51 p.m. — Jose Martinez, 33, of Federal Street was arrested and charged with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, after being stopped by police near CVS.

Greenfield, Jan. 19

3:40 p.m. — A hit-and-run accident was reported at Cherry Rum Automotive on Bernardston Road, involving a green 2005 Subaru Outback. The vehicle sustained minor front end damage.

Greenfield, Jan 20

7:59 a.m. — A car was reported to have been broken into on Linden Avenue. The caller reported that two pairs of skis were stolen.

9:24 p.m. — A person reported that he and his friend have been receiving threats from a fake Snapchat account. Messages included threats about damaging the person’s vehicle and physically harming him and his friend. 

11:03 p.m. — Two men on foot carrying guns were reported on the 110 block of Deerfield Road. It wasn’t clear whether these were airsoft guns or not.

Greenfield, Jan. 21

5:52 p.m. — An intentional overdose on medications was reported by a person at Franklin Street. MedCare was contacted. 

10:58 p.m. — A report of an unwanted person at the Cumberland Farms of Federal Street. The person was there while waiting for an available bed at the Franklin Recovery Center, down the street. 

Greenfield, Jan. 22

12:02 a.m. — A woman, who was just released from Baystate Franklin Medical Center, was found walking erratically around Federal and Pond streets. Police asked her if she needed assistance, which she declined. She was later found on Main Street, near the Post Office, by a cousin at around 2:55 a.m. She declined further medical attention.
