Town Clerk’s office closed in Northfield

NORTHFIELD — The Town Clerk’s office will be closed from Monday, Jan. 15, until Monday, Jan. 22.

Nursing student to share health info

NORTHFIELD — Nursing student Emily Walker presents “Staying Healthy Around Your Grandchildren” at the Senior Center on Tuesday, Jan. 16, at 5:30 p.m., according to the January Senior Center newsletter.

Leyden COA to screen ‘Dunkirk’

LEYDEN — The Council on Aging is screening “Dunkirk,” a PG-13 World War II thriller, on Friday, Jan. 19, at 7 p.m. upstairs in Town Hall. Popcorn will be served.

Bernardston vets to offer dinner, music

BERNARDSTON — The Bernardston Veterans Organization, located at 16 Hartwell St., will feature music by Corki and Ken on Friday, Jan. 19, from 7 to 9 p.m.

According to the event’s Facebook page, the Crescent Moon Relay For Life team will also serve food from 5 to 7 p.m., prior to the music.

Meadowedge Art to start classes

BERNARDSTON — After school classes at Meadowedge Art, located on Fox Hill Road, begin on Feb. 7 for children ages 6 through 13.

According to a Jan. 6 Meadowedge newsletter, art classes for children ages 6 to 9 will be held from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Wednesdays, and classes for children ages 10 to 13 will be held from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Thursdays. Should the Wednesday session fill up, additional sessions will be offered on Monday and Tuesday afternoons.

Bernardston fire truck has mishap

BERNARDSTON — The Selectboard reported during a Jan. 3 meeting that one of the Fire Department’s engines hit some ice returning from a chimney fire the night before and went off the road, striking some mailboxes.

According to Selectboard Chairman Stanley Garland, no one was injured and the truck sustained minor damage.

It was sent to Raymond’s Repair on Jan. 3, and the board was unsure at the time what repairs might cost.
