March 23: Great Falls Coffeehouse series begins

MONTAGUE — The Franklin County Musicians Cooperative will kick off the Great Falls Coffeehouse series on Saturday, March 23, at 7 p.m. at the Great Falls Discovery Center, 2 Avenue A. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Musicians include Small Change; Michael Nix; Pat & Tex LaMountain; Joe Graveline; Russ Thomas; R & D; Orlen, Gabriel & Avery; Stephanie Marshall; Charlie Conant; Sheryl Stanton; Jim Eagan; and Austin & Elliot. Members perform a mix of folk, rock, country, jazz and swing, with original compositions and selected gems from various traditions.

The suggested donation is $5 to $15. Children will be admitted for free.

Nomination papers available for School Committee seats

MONTAGUE — Nomination papers for positions on the Gill-Montague Regional School District School Committee are available from Tara McCarthy at the district’s Central Office, 35 Crocker Ave.

Signatures must be from registered voters from Gill and Montague. Residents are advised to get a few more than the required amount in case one or more of the individuals is found to not be a registered voter. There are several Montague residents at Central Office who are willing to sign papers for any candidate.

The timeline for nomination papers is as follows:

■Montague residents must obtain nomination papers by Monday, April 1, and return them by Wednesday, April 3, in advance of the Tuesday, May 21, annual town election.
