David and Carrie Sears of South Deerfield announce the engagement of their daughter, Ashley Elise of New Gloucester, Maine, to Nicholas Tyler Randle of Ithaca, N.Y. He is the son of Timothy and Lori Randle of Lebanon, Ind.

The bride-to-be earned a bachelor of science degree in applied economics and management and animal science from Cornell University, and a juris doctorate from Western New England University School of Law. She is employed by the Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry as special projects manager, and is a Massachusetts attorney.

Randle received a bachelor of science degree in animal science from Cornell University. He is employed by Zoetis Animal Health.

An Oct. 13, 2017 wedding is planned.
