Where are alumni in Indian replacement search?

It looks as if some practical progress has finally been made by the Gill-Montague School Committee on “replacing/renaming” the Turners Falls High School Indian logo/mascot.

There’s one large oversight in their formula for what groups will form the Community Task Force to debate a possible name change. TFHS alumni were left out. Since 1940 about 7,500 alumni have graduated from TFHS. Many are still living, even a few from the 1940s whom I know. Don’t you think this group should be part of a decision?

I believe their opinions count more than any of those listed in the Recorder article on Aug. 23. How can you exclude the largest voice in this debate and call it democracy ?
