Let’s go greener, using our heads and highways

Wednesday, April 11, 2018

The recent My Turn article by Sen. Stan Rosenberg was heartening to read. That Massachusets leads the way in going green is a very good thing. And yet we must not rest on our laurels, but do more. Here’s an idea. Since electrical generation is the number one cause of air pollution (more than car exhaust), switching to electric cars will not solve anything.

Unless … what if the rest stops along our state roads included charging stations, powered by solar fields on the highway medians? Taxpayer funded, for citizen use, no extra charge. An upgrade to the 21st century for our transportation infrastructure.
