TURNERS FALLS — A motorcycle rider was rushed to the hospital Wednesday just after 3 p.m. after a three-vehicle crash on Millers Falls Road.

“As a precaution, they called in LifeFlight,” Montague Police Sgt. Josh Hoffman said at the scene. No one else was injured in the accident. Police shut down a section of the road near Carlisle Avenue to allow rescue crews room to work.

Hoffman said the motorcycle was the last vehicle in the chain, “he went down, unknown on injuries,” he said.

Not far away, across from Crestview Liquors, two ambulances could be seen idling with lights flashing on the side of the road.

By 3:15 pm, two flatbeds had arrived and workers cleaned up debris around the two remaining vehicles, which were still on the road.

Emergency agencies who responded included Turners Falls Fire Department and Ambulance, Montague Police Department, and MedCare. The accident is under investigation by police officials.
