Police Logs, Jan. 3 to 8, 2018

Montague, Jan. 3

9:25 p.m. — An L Street resident reported unusual behavior in the neighborhood lately. On Dec. 31 she had reportedly come home to an open front door and on various days has noticed her curtains have been touched. 

Greenfield, Jan. 3

6:12 p.m. — Keith M. Shaw, 41, of Oak Court was arrested on a warrant and charged with possession of a Class A and Class B drug, and with resist to arrest. Police attempted to find him at his apartment on Oak Court and then found him inside his car, with a needle and a Class A drug. He was later tasered by police. Later he was sent to the hospital and then booked. 

Greenfield, Jan. 4

11:44 a.m. — A caller out of Poet Seat Health Care, on High Street, reported theft of drugs at the location.

Greenfield, Jan. 5

9:49 a.m. — A caller reported an accident without injuries involving a brown 2007 Mercedes Montego and a gray 2006 Buick LaCrosse near Pro Tech Automotive on French King Highway. According to the log, the driver of the Mercedes cut off the Buick, and was cited for failure to use care when turning.

4:29 p.m. — A caller near the intersection of Federal Street and Linden Avenue reported children had made a fort in the snow at the intersection. Police found the children had made tunnels through a snow pile created by the plow, and were not obstructing the view of traffic.

8:23 p.m. — Police stopped a gray 2007 Subaru Forester near Ruggeri’s Discount Beverage and Redemption Center on Deerfield Street for driving with only running lights on. The driver turned on the headlights.

Greenfield, Jan. 6

12:49 a.m. — An accident at the intersection of Wisdom Way and Munson Street involving a black 2009 Chevrolet Malibu resulted in the arrest of Patrick Clark, 23, of Greenfield, on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, a second offense of driving with a blood-alcohol content of .08 or greater, a marked lanes violation, negligent operation and possession of an open container of alcohol in the car.

4:32 a.m. — A Haywood Street caller reported wires down. Eversource responded.

11:23 p.m. — Matthew K. Haueisen, 27, of Abbott Street was arrested and charged with a second offense of operating under the influence of liquor and failure to stop or yield, after police stopped him on Pierce Street. 

Greenfield, Jan. 7

11:25 a.m. — Greenfield Fire Department reported the traffic lights at Federal and Silver streets are not working correctly. 

6:39 p.m. — A male was laying in a snowbank on Davis Street, unable to walk, and found by an individual, who called it into the police. The male said he was assaulted, he then went to the liquor store for more beer and then fell in the snowbank. He said he wanted to go home but he was reportedly intoxicated and eventually transferred by MedCare. 

Greenfield, Jan. 8

5:18 p.m. — An individual reported a threat made her way, after her dog urinated on a snowbank in front of a home on Conway Drive. Police advised the owner of the dog to seek a restraining order in court.
