Leverett Historical Society

Annual Plant Sale Fundraiser: Saturday, May 26, 9 a.m. to noon. Held rain or shine. Gardener Dawn Marvin Ward will help assist with plant choices and gardening questions. Plant donations welcome, and can be dropped off behind the Leverett Town Hall during the week prior to the sale. Please label all donated plants. Wesley United Methodist Church

Tag-Bake-Plant Sale and Car Wash: Saturday, June 2, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tag sale items include used household items, books, toys and baby items. Homemade cookies, cupcakes, breads and pies will be available at the bake sale, plus lunch foods. Plants include a large variety of perennials and houseplants. All proceeds will benefit the summer mission trip to the United Methodist Economic Ministries in Salem, Maine, where church members will repair homes and assist in the food cupboards and thrift shops. Northampton Garden Tour: Saturday, June 9, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Held rain or shine. Tour tickets are available in advance at Forbes Library, Bay State Perennial Farm, Cooper’s Corner, Hadley Garden Center, North Country Landscapes & Garden Center, and State Street Fruit Store for $15, or for $20 on the day of the tour at Forbes Library only. Celebratory 25th anniversary tour features seven gardens big and small, including four outstanding gardens from previous tours with waterfalls and ponds, statuary, collections of trees and shrubs, and more. Includes a raffle, with items on display at the library. Two tickets for $5, or five tickets for $10. Raffle tickets available at the library. Proceeds benefit Forbes Library. “Making Your Own Herbal Bitters”: Monday, June 18, 7 to 8:30 p.m. John Hannah Jacobson-Hardy of Sweet Birch Herbals for a workshop about the importance of bitters to aid digestion and support liver functioning.
