Field Library

Pre-Mother’s Day Tag and Plant Sale: Saturday, May 12, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Includes a variety of locally grown potted perennial plants, including locally grown lupines. Also a large assortment of yarn, books, DVDs, VHS tapes, jewelry and knick-knacks. Held as the Field Library’s annual fundraiser. Field Library, 243 Millers Falls Road, Northfield.

Pioneer Valley Fern Society

Greenfield Garden Club

Annual Plant Sale Extravaganza: Saturday, May 19, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Garden Club members will be on hand to help pick plants and answer questions. Soil testing also available. Leverett Historical Society

Annual Plant Sale Fundraiser: Saturday, May 26, 9 a.m. to noon. Held rain or shine. Gardener Dawn Marvin Ward will help assist with plant choices and gardening questions. Plant donations welcome, and can be dropped off behind the Leverett Town Hall during the week prior to the sale. Please label all donated plants. Forbes Library

“Seasonal Floral Arrangements”: Saturday, May 12, 2 to 4 p.m. at Forbes Library, 20 West St., Northampton. Learn how to use plant materials gathered in the yard and garden to create beautiful arrangements for your home. Starts with an outdoor demonstration of best practices for collecting plant materials, followed by the creation of unique display pieces in the Community Room. Led by horticulturalist Kate Stafford. Bring pruners and a container or vase for your arrangement. $20. Limited to 15 participants.

Northampton Garden Tour: Saturday, June 9, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Held rain or shine. Tour tickets coming soon and available in advance at Forbes Library, Bay State Perennial Farm, Cooper’s Corner, Hadley Garden Center, North Country Landscapes & Garden Center, and State Street Fruit Store for $15, or for $20 on the day of the tour at Forbes Library only. Includes a raffle, with items on display at the library. Two tickets for $5, or five tickets for $10. Raffle tickets available at the library. Proceeds benefit Forbes Library. Hilltown Seed Saving Network

Seventh Annual Spring Plant Swap: Sunday, May 20, 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Come with extra seedlings and plants to share. Dozens of homegrown varieties of tomatoes, beans, kale, wildflowers and many other crops available, as well as perennial, pollinator-friendly and medicinal plants.
