Easter egg hunts, festivities abound in Franklin County

Bernardston

The Farm Table restaurant, 219 South St., will host an Easter egg hunt on Sunday, March 31. The hunt for children ages 3 and under starts at 11 a.m., kids ages 4 to 6 get their chance at noon and children ages 7 and up can participate at 1 p.m. Prizes will be awarded for best Easter hat. More information about the hunt, as well as the restaurant’s Easter buffet for which reservations are recommended, is available at farmtable.com/easter.

Erving

■The Erving Recreation Commission will host an Easter egg hunt at Riverfront Park, 10 Arch St., on Saturday, March 30. Photos with the Easter Bunny start at 10 a.m. and the egg hunt begins at 10:30 a.m. At-home spring activities for kids will be available while supplies last. Heavy rain or heavy snow cancels.

Tea Times, a local tea maker, will offer a free tea tasting event at the Erving Station candy shop, located at 3 East Main St., from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 30.

Greenfield

On Saturday, March 30, the Garden Cinemas at 361 Main St. will offer photos with the Easter Bunny from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., as well as a free screening of “It’s the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown” at 11 a.m.

Leyden

The Leyden United Methodist Church will host an Easter egg hunt on the town common on Saturday, March 30. Activities and crafts will be held prior to the egg hunt downstairs at the church, with the hunt starting at around 11:20 a.m. Donations of candy, small toys or cash toward the cost of holding the event are appreciated. Contact Emily Herron-Clark at 413-336-6248 to make a donation.

Montague

■The Montague Parks & Recreation Department will host Peter Cottontail’s EGGstravaganza at Unity Park on Saturday, March 30. The hunt starts promptly at 1 p.m. and will be held rain or shine. Children ages 4 to 12 are invited to take part in this annual tradition. Kids can get their pictures taken with Peter Cottontail, enjoy a bake sale and, of course, participate in the egg hunt featuring approximately 5,000 candy and toy-filled eggs. Participants must bring their own basket/bag to collect the eggs. The event is co-sponsored by Duravent, the Montague Elks Lodge and Greenfield Savings Bank.

■Peter Cottontail is coming to Greenfield Savings Bank, 282 Avenue A in Turners Falls, on Friday, March 29, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. This is a photo opportunity, so attendees are encouraged to bring their cellphones or cameras.

New Salem

Northfield

■The Northfield Kiwanis Club will host its annual Easter egg hunt on Saturday, March 30, at 9 a.m. at the Northfield Elementary School playground. Egg hunt rows will be arranged by grade level/age. Coffee will be available for parents. The event is free but the Kiwanis Club will accept donations.

■The Brewery at Four Star Farms, 508 Pine Meadow Road, will host an Easter egg hunt on Sunday, March 31. The egg hunt for children ages 6 and under starts at 11:30 a.m. while kids ages 7 and older can partake at 11:45 a.m. Face painting will be offered by Blossom Winks Face Painting. Families are advised to bring their own baskets. The rain date is Sunday, April 7, at noon.

Orange

The Orange Police Department’s annual Easter egg hunt at Ralph C. Mahar Regional School is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 30. There is a limit of five eggs per child. This year’s event will be a little different — it will be divided into more clearly marked aged groups: 1 to 3 years old, 4 to 6, and 7 and older. Shelburne Falls

Shelburne Falls Pub and Brew, 42 South Maple St., is hosting a buffet lunch and Easter egg hunt on Saturday, March 30. Lunch begins at 11:30 a.m. and the egg hunt starts at 1 p.m. Reservations are required by calling 413-489-3358.
