DEERFIELD — The driver of a Ford Focus was taken to the hospital with minor injuries after crashing into a utility pole during Thursday’s snowstorm.

Just after 2 p.m., local police at the scene on Routes 5 and 10 near Keets Road said the female driver lost control and spun out. She had been traveling about 25 miles per hour toward Greenfield.

The Ford had stopped perpendicular to the road with its front end crumpled. As snow continued to fall, the driver of the Ford was taken into a waiting ambulance with assistance from South County EMS.

Deerfield Police Department directed traffic around the crash, narrowing the road to a single lane.
