Cloa’s Ark fundraiser being held Sunday

Tuesday, September 12, 2017

CHARLEMONT — A fundraising party for Cloa’s Ark Animal Sanctuary will be held Sunday, Sept. 17, at the Mohawk Park Restaurant on Route 2 from noon to 4 p.m.

The 140 animals and the couple managing them, Claudine and Patrick Veistroffer, are being evicted from the Charlemont site where they are now living. The money raised will be used to help with the moving, mostly of the animals, Claudine Veistroffer said.

The event includes a brief film about the animal sanctuary, around noon, a vegetarian buffet lunch at 1 p.m. and live music at 2 p.m. by Philip Rowland Jazz and Eve Christophe. A silent art auction and drawing for door prizes begins at 3 p.m. People are welcome to visit the animals until 4 p.m.

Tickets are $20 and include the lunch buffet and two door prize tickets. For couples or families, the cost is $30 per couple, with children’s lunch free. Extra door prize tickets are $5. Prizes include art work, books, movies, and restaurant gift cards.
