Bulletin board: Landon Allenby, Lucas Allenby shine at USA Snowboard and Freeski Association Nationals

Greenfield’s Landon Allenby and Lucas Allenby traveled to Copper Mountain in Colorado to compete in the United States of America Snowboard and Freeski Association Nationals earlier this month, and the brothers showed out well against the best in the country.

In slopes, Landon Allenby placed 14th overall while Lucas Allenby came in 15th in a 70-skier field.

Colleges

Castleton’s Owen Phelps got the win on the mound on Sunday against Plymouth State, striking out five in three innings work in the Spartans’ 12-6 win.

The former Greenfield High School ace came in during the seventh and scattered just five hits, helping hold down the Panthers late.

GMLB

Freedom Credit Union 13, Gruber and Tripp 2 — Walker Kingsbury knocked four hits, one a double, while Malachi Hickey had a big game behind the plate in Freedom’s victory on Monday. 

Cooper Deane and Colton Urkiel each had three hits for Gruber and Tripp. 

Smitty’s Tavern 13, Denny’s Pantry 0 — Christian Powell and JJ Bones combined to allow one hit while Asa Bouchard had three hits and an RBI, Christian Powell had three hits and Preston Charboneau had two hits and four RBIs in Smitty’s Majors win on Sunday. 

Quest Shivone had a hit while Fred Burnap recorded a strikeout for Denny’s.

Lundgren Honda 15, Liberty Tax 13 — Reed Kelley pitched, Adrian Lopez knocked two triples and Andrew Quintana played well behind the plate for Lundgren in a win on Sunday.

Elijah Lawler pitched, Orion Lindemann had multiple hits while Quin Gibbons had an RBI for Liberty Tax.

Pipione’s 7, Booska’s Flooring 6 – Jaxon Yates hit an inside-the- park home run to lift Pip’s to victory on Monday. Liam Kerivan and Spencer Towne each pitched three innings and struck out eight in the win.

Booska’s Gunner Triggs went 2-for-2 with three runs, Ryan Newton had a hit and an RBI and Asa Stebbins tossed 1 2/3 solid innings on the mound.

Booska’s 7, St. Stan’s 3 — Asa Stebbins struck out eight, Gunnar Triggs knocked a pair of hits and Ryan Newton had a hit and an RBI in Booska Flooring’s win on Sunday. 

Carter Flagg and Malcolm Tyler each had a hit and an RBI for St. Stan’s.

Descavich Plumbing 9, Precision Driving 5 — Sammi Suhl had two hits, one a double, while Gabby Warriner-Cardin had a hit, Emerson Russell had two RBIs and Esme Sautter had an RBI in Descavich’s win on Monday. 

Kendall Bernard and Kalina Pease each had two hits while Madelyn Barrett hit safely for Precision. 

Gilmore & Farrell 14, Greenfield Garden Cinema 11 — Rian Farrell (two hits, RBI), Hannah Lunt (two hits, two RBI) and Sadie Wilcox (two hits, three RBI) led Gilmore to a victory on Saturday.

Rileyanne Tine had two hits and three RBI’s for Greenfield Garden.
