The Northfield Golf Club is holding the Northfield 350th Celebration Golf Tournament on July 8. 

The tournament is individual stroke play format, with the entry fee being $80. Entries open on May. 1. 

There will be a men’s and women’s division, with cash prizes going to gross and net winners. $800 will go to first place and $400 will go to second in all four divisions. The awards banquet will follow at the Beech House, with guest tickets available for $35. For more information call 413-498-2432. 

Post 81 tryouts

The Post 81 American Legion baseball team, which features both a senior and junior squad, will be holding registration and tryouts on May 6, 7 and 13, all taking place at 1 p.m. at Vets Field in Greenfield. 

The senior team is for those who are 19 and under by Dec. 31, 2023 while the juniors must be 17 and under by Dec. 31, 2023. Players from all Franklin County schools are eligible to try out, and those from previous Post 81 teams must still try out to be eligible. Players are asked to bring a glove, cleats and their original birth certificate.

Amherst ultimate

The 30th Amherst Invitational Ultimate Tournament will take place at MacDuffie School in Granby on April 29 and 30. Nearly 30 high school teams and over 600 competitors will compete in the tournament. 

Games start each day at 9 a.m. and end at approximately 4:30. Admission is free for everyone, with food and merchandise will be available for purchase.

This year’s tournament is a qualifying tournament for the 2023 High School National Invite in June in Salt Lake City. The winners from the Amherst Invite Girls Division 1 and Open Division 1 will automatically receive an invitation to participate in the national tournament.
