Bulletin Board: Bluefish overtake Stripers in youth swimming action

Iggy Passiglia and Ellis Tarry won two events in the boys’ 13-14 year old division, helping the Montague Bluefish to a 227-61 win over the Palmer Stripers in youth swimming action over the weekend.

Passiglia won the 200 Freestyle (2:52.75) and 100 Butterfly (1:33.35), while Tarry was victorious in the 200 Individual Medley (3:06.17) and 100 Breaststroke (1:33.17).

Andrew Bostrom (100 Backstroke), Kris Bostrom (50 Freestyle) and John Kolosewicz (100 Free) all won events in the 13-14 division, while the trio added runner-up finishes in other events as well.

Dylan Bliss took second in the 200 Free and 100 Back, while the team of Tarry, Kris Bostrom, Bliss and Kolosewicz captured first in the 200 Free Relay.

On the girls’ side, Catherine Bezio won the 200 Free (2:37.64) and 100 Fly (1:43.99), while Natalie Rowan won both the 200 IM (3:01.87) and 100 Back (1:20.66). Jillian Scott was a double winner with victories in the 50 Free (31.04) and 100 Breast (1:37.32), while Skyler Cohen won the 100 Free (1:24.55) and took second in the 50 Free, while Victoria Malcolm was runner-up in the 100 Free and 100 Breast.

Rowan, Malcolm, Bezio and Scott won the 200 Free Relay.

Girls’ 15-plus: Allison Wheeler won both the 50 Free (31.07) and 100 Free (1:11.65).

Boys’ 15-plus: Morgan Downham snagged a pair of runner-up finishes in the 50 Free and 100 Free.

Girls’ 11-12: Ainslee Flynn won the 50 Fly (42.13) and 100 Free (1:20.74), while Sadie Rowan won both the 100 IM (3:45.26) and 50 Back (44.88). Taryn McDonough was victorious in the 50 Breast (48.65) and took second in the 50 Free. The 200 Free Relay team of Rowan, McDonough, Ava Fortin and Flynn won their event.

Boys’ 11-12: Alex Shutta was a double winner in the 50 Free (43.44) and 50 Back (55.31).

Girls’ 9-10: Alice Fortin won the 100 Free (1:37.14) and 50 Breast (57.34) while Breanna Kempf also won two events in taking the 50 Free (44.49) and 50 Back (57.21).

Boys’ 9-10: Russell Herbert won the 50 Free (42.54) and 50 Back (52.99) and teammate Tristan Bliss won both the 100 IM (1:38.92) and 100 Free (1:27.12).

Patrick Voss won the 50 Fly (1:01.41) and was third in the 100 Free (1:43.35), while Liam Bliss was runner-up in both the 100 IM and 50 Free. Joe O’Donnell was third in the 50 Free and 50 Back, and the quartet won the 200 Free Relay.

8 and Under: Maddie Sabelawski won the 50 Free (58.85) and took third in the 25 Breast, while Kaelyn McLean was second in both the 25 Free and 25 Breast. Ella Sibley won both the 25 Free (27.21) and 25 Back (31.81).

Boys’ 9 and Under: Rowan Muzzy won both the 25 Free (28.54) and 25 Back (27.41), while Owen Bliss was second in both events.

Youth hockey

FCHA bantams: Kameron Tompkins scored a pair of goals, leading the Franklin County Hockey Association Dillon’s Warriors to a 5-1 win over Keene in a Greater Springfield League bantam hockey game Sunday at Collins-Moylan Arena.

MJ Paulin, Tony Wozny and Casey Hoffman all added single goals, while assists came from Jake Croteau, Dylan Mahar and Derek Lenois.

Josh Bordeaux and Trevor Parkinson combined for 23 saves in limiting Keene to just one goal. Shea Savage and Colin Byrnes played well defensively.
