Alpine ski: Mohawk Trail’s Addie Loomis earns third straight first place finish at Berkshire East

Three races, three victories on the mountain for Mohawk Trail’s Addie Loomis. 

On Tuesday in the third PVIAC alpine ski race of the season at Berkshire East in Charlemont, Loomis placed first overall in the girls’ race with a time of 44.74 seconds on the slalom course, giving her a third win on the season.

Two other Warriors joined Loomis in the top five on Tuesday. Emmy Sisum was right behind her with a second place finish (46.58) while Mae Hoff took fourth (48.92). 

Sofiya Slocik-Gritzner came in eighth (49.60), Caroline Makosiej earned 15th (58.21), Naomi Den Ouden placed 16th (58.49) and Ohia Delhert took 22nd (1:02) in what was a third successful race for the Mohawk Trail girls.

In the boys race, Phineas Tuttman was one of six Warriors to place in the top 25, taking seventh overall with a run of 34.57 seconds on the giant slalom course. 

Grayson Bishop placed eighth (34.93), Ben Makosiej took ninth (35.01), Gage Patenaude tied for 14th (35.73), Wyatt Sisum earned 16th (35.92) and Alex Schreiber came in 25th (36.82) for Mohawk Trail. 

Hampshire Regional’s Edward Przybyla placed first in the boys’ race for the second week in a row with a time of 30.79 seconds.

The fourth race of the regular season is slated for Thursday at 5 p.m. back at Berkshire East.
