Heath ‘Meet the Candidates’ night set for Sunday

HEATH — A pre-election “Meet the Candidates” event will be held Sunday, May 5, at 3 p.m. in the Jacobs Road Municipal Center.

William Emmet and Michael Smith are vying for the three-year Selectboard seat currently held by Sue Lively, who is not seeking reelection.

Other candidates who are running unopposed are:

■Finance Committee incumbents Edwin “Ned” Wolf and Robert McGahan, three-year seats.

■Planning Board, William Fontes, five-year term.

■Library trustee, Rebecca Johnston, three-years term.

■School Committee incumbent Budge Litchfield, three-year term.

■Municipal Light Board, incumbents Edwin “Ned” Wolf and Arthur Schwenger, three-year terms.

■Constable Steven Thane for reelection, three-year term.

■Town Clerk Mary Sumner for reelection, three-year term.

Candidates running for a contested race will be asked questions submitted by residents in the audience and read by the moderator, Doug Wilkins. Each candidate will be given time for opening and closing remarks.

The annual town election will be held on Friday, May 10, from noon to 7 p.m. at the Jacobs Road Municipal Center.
